Mother's Day has kind of been a day I dreaded as we navigated through infertility. It's just a hard day to celebrate when all you want to do is cry because you don't get to participate in the way that you want to.
This year was a little different. I'm not exactly sure what moment you're officially a mom (conception? viability? birth?) but I'm calling it our first Mother's Day together, even if bean is just rolling around in my uterus.

Steve snuck out and got me some chocolate covered strawberries and a lovely card!
The biggest surprise of the day was my sister, who brought me a stuffed lamb for Baby H and some bath salts for me!
Another exciting part of this Mother's Day was my own mama was able to be here! She hasn't been here on a Mother's Day since she moved away 7 years ago. She didn't get in til after dinner but we waited around at dad's and kept some food warm for her and my step dad and got to visit for an hour!
And now it's Monday! Steve has a job interview today so fingers are crossed over here!
Fingers crossed for Steve. SO glad you enjoyed this Mother's Day! Well deserved!! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are a mother the moment you start feeling like you'll do whatever it takes to keep your child safe from harm, in my opinion. For me, and you I bet, it's well before the baby takes it's breath on the outside.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mothers Day (a bit late)!
