When we first started seeing my doctor about our TTC struggles I was not surprised when my weight came up. I will say, overweight people have healthy babies. All the time. So I, for one, am not convinced that my weight directly correlates by any means but it's also something I want to work on. My GP told me to quit Weight Watchers and just start counting calories and going to see her for weigh ins. For some reason, calorie counting doesn't work for me. I don't care for it. Not to mention, I could never survive on 1,200 calories a day long term (maybe for like a week? but then... I'd eat our house).
I'm an emotional eater. I stress out, have bad days and I eat to make myself feel better. This is not healthy behaviour, I know, but it's the truth. And there is no denying that this struggle has been very emotional for me. Plus, one of the symptoms of PCOS is difficulty losing weight. Let's be honest, I've been making excuses. I tell myself that I'm struggling simply because my body doesn't want to lose weight and there is nothing I can do about it. I tell myself that I need to just get over it and move on. And you know where this kind of thinking got me? To my highest weight ever, and my clothes barely fit. I now have roughly 80 lbs to lose. And the truth also is, people with PCOS do lose weight, slowly and steadily, when they get their shit together and stick with something.
On Friday I decided to sign back up for Weight Watchers. I don't like calorie counting and I like that WW takes more nutritional information than calories into account. It's not the best program in the world but it's something that has worked for me in the past.
I have my weigh-in dates set for Sundays so I can do a regular update on Mondays. I'm hoping this will help me stay on track and be accountable!
Meals:
Friday - Quinoa Fiesta Enchilada Bake - this was really good, and super filling. Steve loved it too! I had my MRI Saturday afternoon and wasn't allowed to eat or drink for 6 hours before so I actually had some of this for breakfast with an egg too. It was awesome.
Saturday - Chicken Strips with BBQ Sauce and Parsnip Fries - the fries took a few minutes to get used to since they taste like parsnips and not what I expect fries to taste like. They were delicious though!
Sunday - Sundays are always a wild card because we go to my dad's for dinner. We had burgers with homemade buns and a small piece of salted pecan and chocolate chip bundt cake.
I didn't expect a huge weight loss from Friday to Sunday but was pleasantly surprised. Probably just water but I'll take it!
This week's change: -1.8 lbs.
Total weight loss: -1.8lbs.
You can do it!! You will. Try getting back into the 21 Fix or a new program. I always find something new works best for me cause then I don't know what to expect! PiYo is great, and gentle so you can continue it when you get pregnant.
ReplyDeleteI saved the first recipe. It looks amazing!! You can do it christy!
