I had my endocrinology follow up this week on Thursday. Steve had to work but a friend of mine was nice enough to drive all the way from Airdrie to my house (40ish minutes) and then to the new hospital where my appointment was at (another 20ish minutes) so I wouldn't have to get up at 4 and drive him to work.
We started out with my blood test results. I was supposed to go 8, 10 and 12 DPO but Fertility Friend confused my O date and by the time I figured it out I'd already gone for my blood work and ended up doing it 5, 7 and 9 DPO. Whoooops. >.>
Anyway as far as progesterone draws are concerned in the LP part of your cycle they look for a number between 12.0 and 130.0. Mine were 17, 19 and 23. So they were within the range. But. (yep. there is a but.) they look for a number over 30 to definitively confirm O. So... Almost.
My endo seems to think that 23 is probably close enough because my cycles are pretty regular this day. She comes from the school of thought to trust my body over the lab results and based on regular cycles and clear shifts on my charts and the fact that the blood work was within the LP range she's pretty sure it's fine. She's checking with a colleague and I'm following up with her in February. She feels like we've done enough progesterone draws and hasn't sent me for any more.
The next step will be seeing the gynecologist so I can get my tubes checked and start looking at other ways such as ultrasounds to confirm O and start to get a look at the functionality of everything. Oh the excitement. I did finally get a call with an appointment with a gyno for Feb 25th. Seriously hoping that isn't midterm week because it's smack dab in the middle of my first class that Tuesday.
I am just so frustrated that I couldn't get the number they wanted.
I'm trying to be optimistic here and my body just can't get itself figured out.
