Second time in and I'm already two days late - awful I know - but I waited until today on purpose cos I wanted to wait until after my doctor's appointment this morning so I could actually have something to say other than ranting about being in the limbo of not knowing what is going on with my body.
So I slept in a bit this morning and Steve was off so he was able to take me to my doctor's appointment, which we arrived at pretty much exactly on time and didn't really have to wait (wooo). Steve went to get a drink so the nurse had to bring him back after he was done that. We waited for a few minutes and then Dr. B popped in and said they had my results.
My blood work was once again pretty ambiguous. Had I not had proof my cycles are so ridiculous my blood work wouldn't indicate anything of the sort. That being said my ultrasound was much more obvious. There were tons of little cysts hanging out all around my ovaries. That combined with some of my other symptoms gave us a pretty obvious diagnosis, poly cystic ovarian syndrome.
PCOS is not uncommon and it's manageable with medication. I'm on a wait list to see an endocrinologist (3+months) and a gynecologist (timeline given? longer than the endo.).
Things I can do in the meantime? Keep charting, eat good, exercise, and we will see what happens I guess.
I'm not ready to talk about how this makes me feel, I'm all over the place right now. Next week maybe.
