Our official possession date for the condo is July 17th! We had Home Depot out last weekend to measure for the floor and now I'm just waiting for them to call with the estimate so we can order it in. So excited. We put in notice at our apartment today!
There is a bit of work that needs to be done. I can't remember how much I have said about the condo so here's a run down. It's pink. Like every wall in every room is pink. And my step mom painted the rectangle spots in the doors pink, so we have to paint those too. It's alllll pink. My dad calls it the Pink Palace. And it has red carpet. So carpet is out, thank you Home Depot for your lovely laminate flooring. We have picked paint colours for every room and we will be painting after we take possession.
I've also started my list of Steve's Day Off projects in the new place. We want to redo the back splash (right now it is literally one line of white tile and it looks so sad) so we've picked out a really nice back splash and he will pull off the old stuff, sand and paint and then we can put up the new one. He also wants to get new knobs for the cabinet doors and maybe paint the cabinets. We're toying with the idea of replacing them but it will just depend how long we plan to be there and if it's worth the cost. A little paint can go a long way.
Here's my to do list right now:
- Call Home Depot about the floor. Need estimate.
- Get bed out of spare room and into garbage.
- Buy boxes.
- Clean apartment cos they'll be showing it soon.
- Pack.
- Keep packing.
- Go through closet and get rid of stuff.
- Go through house and get rid of stuff.
