Christmas 2014 & Cat ear trouble

Our annual ornament
Christmas was pretty low key as usual! My mama came into town on the 23rd and came over after our fertility appt on Christmas Eve to make cookies. We were going to have sushi with Carla on Christmas Eve but she was sick and we ended up staying in. Christmas morning my sister came over and we opened gifts with her and then my mom and step dad came over for their turn. After all the gifts were open we headed over to my dads for more presents (!!!) and dinner. I don't know what he did this year but that was probably the best turkey we've ever had. It was a great Christmas all around.
All ready for my work Christmas party!
My dad got some Kraken in honor of Lawrence and after about 6 doubles Steve was a little tipsy. My sister and I got some funny videos.
Our tree! We put it up Christmas Eve so my mama could decorate with us
Giftwise, we were spoiled. I got Steve a new watch and two video games he wanted and he got me some expensive face products that I love and some knitting needles. We got new cookware, two new toilets, new phones for the house, mixing bowls, and a ton of cash. You know you're an adult when you say, "what do I want for Christmas? new toilets, please!" but the new toilets are awesome. We got cash and picked them up yesterday ($90 a piece at Costco, and the city will give us a $50 rebate per toilet) and Dad & Steve installed them :D

Testing out the new cookware with Broccoli, Cheese & Potato soup on Boxing day!
We picked toilets named after my sister apparently
Hard at work
Boxing day shopping success lead to a new purse, new drill and new coat hook :D My sister and I went to Chinook for our annual Coach trip and both found something we liked. AND we got parking next to the door around lunch time. It's one of the smaller malls so it actually wasn't that busy. We were in and out in less than an hour.

Hook is from Twisted Goods. It wasn't actually on sale but I still like it :) There are five hooks in total that fold up when not in use so it just looks decorative.

Annual Coach purchase! 60% off on Boxing Day is my jam.
I'm back at work today. We woke up this morning and Steve noticed Devastator's ear was sitting a little funny. I felt it and it was like a huge bubble, poor guy had a scratch that got infected. Our vet is closed until tomorrow so I called the 24 hour vet clinic by our house and they said to bring him in as a walk in. I went to work and Steve took a quick trip over there since he is still off school. They had a look at it and decided to drain it. Luckily, it wasn't full of blood or anything. He'll be on steroids for the next three weeks. The vet says he will be fine though and they didn't have to put him under or anything cos he's basically the friendliest cat ever (even if you are sticking a needle in his ear). Thank goodness for Christmas money >.>.
