I had this all typed out and blogger messed up! Argh! Here we go again!
Ellie turned 1 on Sept 11th! I can't believe I have a one year old, it's just amazing. She's come so far from my little 4 pound preemie, I just can't believe it. I'm currently looking for work but enjoying my extra time with her too.
At her one year shots Ellie weighed in at 16lbs 4oz and 27.25". She's wearing 6-12m clothing. She's slimmed down a bit since she started moving around so much so we've adjusted the waist down on her cloth diapers. She's still maxing out the thighs (taking after her mama for sure). She's in the 6th percentile for weight and 3rd for height so she's still quite petite but she's following her trend and doing well. She's come far from the 0.1st percentile she was born at!
She is a crawling machine! And into EVERYTHING. She is nothing but trouble and she knows it. She's learning the word no and cries every time she hears it. I try not to roll my eyes every time but clearly, we have a routine. She loves to put things into and take things out of bins and her favourite toys continues to be her stuffed unicorns though she likes the Violet dog she got for her birthday and her singing tea set.
We made it to a year on breastmilk! How I've pumped this long I have no idea. We've introduced whole milk and that's going well. She's still getting some breastmilk every day but I've started weaning off the pump. I'm down to twice a day and still quite sore by the time I get there so I'm waiting to drop another session until my supply evens out again. We also have a box of milk in the freezer for her so she will get some for a while yet.
Food wise she's still an eating machine, she loves food and tends to eat a lot. Her biggest meal of the day is definitely breakfast so I'm working on making sure we have a healthy start to the day. She isn't very picky but definitely has her favourites. She loves cheese, black beans, egg noodles and bananas so we try to include them often. She has 6 teeth now and I think she's working on some molars.
I have no idea what happened around a year but from about 11.5 to 12.5m sleep was a freaking mess. It would take hours to get her down and she would just scream the whole time. She seems to be back to normal for the most part so that's good. She has a bit of a cold right now so that's impacting her sleep but otherwise 7-7 is kinda her jam. Naps are still hit or miss, some days an hour... others 20 minutes but that's not unusual for her.
I can't believe she's one, it's been such a wild year but I wouldn't trade it for anything. She's my miracle <3.
Happy belated birthday Ellie! Love all of the pictures
