I'm a little behind! Ellie turned 11 months on August 11th!
She's really not sitting still for photos anymore!
I'm scrapping the survey thing to fill out, I'm feeling lazy. Ellie is 15lbs 13oz and 26" tall. She's wearing 9/12m clothes from Carters and 6-12m from everywhere else. Her cloth diapers are completely unsnapped at the rise, on the 3rd thigh snap but pretty cinched in the waist still. She started crawling around 10m and hasn't stopped. She really wants to walk though, most of her day is spent crawling over to things she can pull up and walk along.
She's eating a TON of food. More than ever before and hasn't dropped any milk so she's probably going gain some weight by her 1 year appt. I guessed she would be 16lbs at a year and it's looking like I'll be pretty close! I'm still pumping 3-4x a day. I was going to cut back this month but I decided to wait one more month because I wanna wait til she's a year adjusted before introducing anything else. She will drink water from a sippy now and I'm starting to work on milk.
She's sleeping 7-7 for the most part, some nights it's tough to get her down so we've implemented a 3 minute rule. Most nights when it happens it seems like she wants to play and not go to bed so when she's doing that we lay her down and rub her belly and then leave the room. She cries, obviously, so we give her 3 minutes. If she is still crying we go in and give her a kiss and lay her back down.
So far she hasn't even cried the 3 mins, she will cry for 1-2 and then lay down and go to sleep. If we try to stay there til she falls asleep it takes a lot longer than 3 minutes. I was so torn about starting this because I really dislike CIO and don't like the idea of leaving my baby to cry but we found she was taking so much longer with us there because she would try and play and talk to us and get mad if we wouldn't engage so this seems to be a good system. My doctor said 5-10 minutes but I wasn't comfortable with that so we settled on 3. I'm hoping it continues on this way. If she wakes up in the middle of the night she usually fusses for a minute and then goes back to sleep so I'm thinking this was a good idea.

One new thing she's started doing is kissing. She gives us kisses (open mouth) and her toys! It's one of the cutest things I've ever seen. She also says "mama" and "dada" and signs for milk. She loves the Wiggles and Octonauts because she loves music and tries to sing along. She claps her hands all the time and does this funny thing where she sits down and spins herself in a circle with one foot, it's hilarious.
She's in a bit of a mama stage right now and when she wants me no one, not even Steve, can settle her down. It's been a little exhausting but I think it's getting better. It's a little tough when I'm trying to make food or pump but if I can I just throw her in the tula or a wrap on my back and it really seems to help!
I'm officially done mat leave and looking for a job.
I can't believe we are 3 weeks away from turning 1. I just can't. This year has flown by and she's doing so well. I'm so proud of how far she has come and I can't wait to see how far she goes.
